Picturesque. Excellent roads throughout the area with many recent improvements and more underway. Two miles from Sac City with all conveniences, good schools, and an excellent hospital (Loring/Unity Point Clinic).Driveway is long lane that loops around by garages and can accommodate several vehicles and/or truck. There is an old garage and two old sheds all of no value, although they are used for equipment storage. What I love about the home:Well-built home with original woodwork; carpeted living and dining rooms and library; hardwood floors. Very cozy and comfortable and quiet. Beautiful and productive fruit orchards surrounding house including grapes, hazelnuts, raspberries, blackberries, chokeberries, asparagus, apricots, plums, apples, peaches, pears, tart and sweet cherries, serviceberries, mulberries, and walnut trees. We have canned extensively over the years as there is a large crop of plums, apples, and peaches. Convenient to, but not too near, major arteries and towns. Nearby roads and freeway all improved and widened, although our home is on gravel one quarter mile from Union Ave. The house is surrounded by fruit trees, flowers, and flowering shrubs such as honeysuckle, lilacs and ninebarks. Home to variable numbers of migratory monarchs that visit every September. We let milkweed grow for their benefit, and bees love the sedum, the Joe Pye Weed, the Indian cups, and other wild flowers. The property has been listed for the last eight years in the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship Sensitive Crops Directory. We have never sprayed chemicals on these two acres in all this time. I have been outdoors every day recently pruning and burning limbs so the new home owner will have little to do for the next couple years except enjoy the serenity and the fruit. This property is an oasis for monarchs, bees, and birds.
